Tour Description
Vinicunca or Winicunca, also called Mountain of
Seven Colors, Rainbow Mountain or Mountain of Colors,
also called by the settlers Cerro Colorado, is a mountain
with an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level and
owes its incredible coloration to the mineral wealth
that houses its soil . It is located on the road to
Nevado Ausangate, in the Andes, Cusco Region,
Quispicanchis province.
Pick up from the hotel, guided tour to the mountain
of seven colors, which is four hours from Cusco. We start the
journey in transport to the community of Pampa Chiri, town of
PITUMARCA, passing through the rural communities of Ocefina,
Japura and Hanchipacha to meet WINICUNCA. Then we will walk
approximately 5km on the foothills of the mountain, starting
at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level, reaching up
to 5,200 meters above sea level. In case the walk is not
possible, we will have options to climb the rest of the way
on horseback until we reach the Mountain of Colors and
delight ourselves with this wonder that nature gives us.
Return to Cusco and lunch in route.
